Fiji is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the world. The people are loving, the scenery is breathtaking, and you'll experience a culture that'll make you feel like a part of the family. There's nothing like being surrounded by the local Fijians, who will serve you as you serve them.

  • Although Fiji is well known for its beautiful beaches and five-star resorts, 34% of the Fijian population lives below the poverty line. An estimated 140,000 people currently live in substandard housing conditions in informal settlements, and that number is increasing.

As a remote island country, Fiji faces challenges similar to other Pacific island countries. They are small in size with limited natural resources, narrowly-based economies, large distances away from major markets, and vulnerability to external shocks.

In 2019, HEFY built an expansion on a rural primary school. One local responded, "This was an answer to our prayers from years of hoping and praying to build these classrooms. We are so grateful to HEFY."

You’ll travel to the gorgeous island of Wayalailai where you’ll experience cultural dances, get to hike to a village on the small island, and spend time snorkeling and playing on the beach. During the second weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Viti Levu (the main island of Fiji) and zipline through the jungle. You’ll see waterfalls, go net-fishing, and explore Fiji’s beautiful forests surrounding an awesome rope swing.

You will serve in the newly rededicated temple in Suva, the capital of Fiji.

Fiji is an island nation in the South Pacific comprised of 333 islands and islets, 106 of which are inhabited.

The islands are covered with beaches, coral gardens, and rain forests. The majority of Fiji's islands were formed through volcanic activity. The islands of Fiji have been inhabited for thousands of years.

The people of Fiji are warm and loving. They have rich cultural practices that reflect the history of their families and people, the majority of which are Christian. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints first came to Fiji in 1843.

Rugby is the most popular team sport in Fiji. The national rugby team has competed at five Rugby World Cup competitions, where they advanced to the final matches.

The forest, mineral, and fish resources in these islands has led Fiji to become one of the most developed of the Pacific island economies.
