As an exciting modification to our Argentina trip, you will now explore parts of Patagonia! Argentina's iconic mountain range is only one of the attractions that the country offers. Argentina, bordered by Paraguay and Brazil, has a population of 44.27 million. The official language of Argentina is Spanish, and it is the second largest country in South America and the 8th largest country in the world.

With a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of more than US$500 billion, Argentina is one of the largest economies in Latin America. However, the historical volatility of economic growth and the accumulation of institutional obstacles have impeded the country’s development. Urban poverty in Argentina remains high, approximately 50 percent higher than in new high income countries and almost two times that of OECD countries. The incidence of poverty reaches 41% among children aged 0 to 14 years old.

The overall poverty rate in Argentina is currently 32%, with challenges to infrastructure, food insecurity, and economic obstacles continuing to contribute to the poverty rate.

This high adventure trip begins right when you get off the plane! You will spend your first three nights at the Patagonia - Torres del Paine National Park. Here you will kayak glacial waters (all gear will be provided) and hike the illustrious “Base de Torres”. The second weekend you will visit one of the natural wonders of the world...Iguazu Falls!

On your last day in Argentina, you will serve in the beautiful Buenos Aires Temple and learn about the adjacent MTC. Unique to the Argentina expeditions, you will also visit the monument celebrating the dedication of the South America continent for the preaching of the restored gospel by Elder Melvin J. Ballard in 1925

Argentina is the second largest country in South America and the 8th largest in the world.

Argentina differs from many other southern american countries in that it is very racially diverse. Nearly 95% of all Argentine people come from European descent.

Although the main language in Argentina in Spanish, the country has five official languages: Spanish, English, Italian, German, French.
