A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE
HXP was founded by parents that wanted to change the lives of their children. We do what we do because we know lives are changed most significantly through meaningful service. To be able to experience something like this–true Christlike, selfless service–together with your son or daughter is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.
But making miracles doesn’t come cheap. We expect world-class effort out of our Parent Builders. You will be serving not only the locals in the area, but even more importantly, the Builders on your trip. They will need your unique life experience, unconditional support, endless energy, and sincere love. This trip is exhausting in the most incredible ways, but the relationships you make will be one of the most rewarding parts of the whole experience.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Parents of registered Youth Builders are able to sign up as a Parent Builder, but we’ve seen the powerful experience shared between a grandparent and their grandchild and even aunts and uncles with their nieces and nephews so the opportunity is also available to more than parents (ages 35-75).
If you are a married couple wanting to go with your Builder, empty nesters seeking to have a mission-like experience or someone who loves to serve the youth, reach out, we would love to hear from you!
REQUIRED TRAINING
Each Parent Builder is required to attend a MANDATORY IN-PERSON training. A zoom option is available only for those who live outside of Utah.
Each year, about 95% of Parent Builders go on their trips and have an amazing experience. However, the handful that do end up having challenges almost inevitably did not fully participate in the training. We have seen a direct correlation between your satisfaction as a Parent Builder and the 3 hours you invest in this training to prepare.
You will not be cleared to go on your trip if you haven’t participated in training.
The training is also a great opportunity to tour HXP HQ (SLC location), talk with HXP employees face-to-face, visit with other Parent Builders, and maybe even win some HXP swag!

FIRST TIME PARENT BJILDER TRAINING
Friday April 18th, 1-4pm – SLC
Saturday April 26th, 2-5pm- Lehi
Wednesday April 30th, 6-9pm – SLC
Tuesday May 13th, 10am-1pm – Lehi

Return Parent Builder Training!
We realize experience is the best teacher, but there is always more to learn and ways to improve to make this year’s experience the best ever.
The 2025 training dates for returning parent builders are:
Friday May 2nd, 11:30am-1:00pm – SLC
Thursday April 24th, 7-8:30pm – Lehi
ZOOM Training (ONLY for those who reside outside of Utah): Thursday May 15th, 6:30-8pm MST
YOUR ROLE AS A PARENT BUILDER
- Loving Example – Work alongside the youth, be a friend to ALL & keep up with the ‘teenage’ pace even when you’re tired.
- Storyteller- Be the eyes and ears for all the parents at home. Capture the miracles in pictures and post daily on the HXP trip instagram daily.
- Safety Guru- At tourist spots, airports, and in general, keep an eye open for safety concerns & review emergency procedures with the Trip Leader.
- Healer- First aid Guru, Sunburn Suppressor, Water Watchdog AND Loving Listener.
- Influencer – Be the trip optimist. Be flexible (things wont always go as planned) & see the miracles. Smile.
- Guardian Angel- Pray to personally impact and love each builder.
- Trip Leader Champion- Let the Trip Leaders lead, be their number #1 fan and vocal supporter.
